Il design dell'informazione, o infografica, usa le immagini, i simboli, le parole per rendere esplicite visivamente connessioni e idee. è il campo della comunicazione visiva in cui più è evidente lo scopo del progetto teso a chiarire i significati e ad aiutare alla comprensione di informazioni più o meno complesse. 

carte, diagrammi, mappe, tabelle, grafici, torte, istruzioni, legende possono essere alcune delle più noiose e incomprensibili realizzazioni o invece possono essere dei esempi di chiarezza di rappresentazione del pensiero, come dimostrano alcuni casi di eccellenza quali i manoscritti di galileo, i disegni di calder e klee, il memorial del vietnam,...

il volume appena edito da GESTALTEN, DATA FLOW, tenta di fare il punto sull'attuale stato della ricerca grafica nella rappresentazione dell'informazione. 

in un mondo in cui il problema principale è la sovraesposizione informativa, ogni sforzo rivolto a chiarire e semplificare i sistemi complessi diventa uno strumento indispensabile di interpretazione della realtà. non a caso molte esperienze progettuali di infografica sono legati oggi alla comunicazione politica e sociale.

creare un grafico è in prima battuta creare una narrazione, raccontare una storia da un determinato punto di vista.

in questo, DATA FLOW è un'ottima raccolta di testi e infografiche, senz'altro utile per tutti coloro interessati alla rappresentazione visiva dei dati al di là degli effetti di powerpoint.

Shredding by David Winston

An experimental typographic piece exploring ways of creating 3D-al letterforms from 2D-al materials. The work is made from a large sheet of paper which was manually shredded. Each strip was then folded outwards on apre designed map to create the sentence "SHREDDING IS ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS".

es ist nun eine weile her, seit ich etwas auf meinen blog geblogt hab...

und eigentlich tat ich es jetzt endlich dank dir yan. deshalb ist dieser beitrag 

eine kleine widmung für dich. ich möchte dir auf diesem weg wieder mal sagen, 

dass ich froh bin, dass du im tessin bist und mit mir alle tiefen und höhen durchlebt hast.

ich bin sicher dass unser weg sich noch einige male kreuzen wird, auch wenn wir mal
