Type Comparisons
Architecture vs. Typography

A graphic designer from Miami born in Barranquilla, Colombia.
He says: "Visual Comparisons was an excercise project in which we were to select a random theme and compare fonts from different type characters. I chose architecture and decided to find the hidden fonts then lay them out next to each other on drafting paper. I made the covers as blueprint paper and then laid a sheet of velum over and traced it with white china pencil to reinforce the effect of architecture. The photos were self shot and depictured the Miami Downtown area."

"Refait" is a meticulous remake of the last faze of a football World Cup match between France and Germany in Seville, Spain (1982). Shot by Pied La Biche in Villeurbanne (France), every aspect of the 15 last minutes of this particular soccer match was carefully reconstructed: players, positions, camera angles, gestures,...
The aim was to visualize all the traditional football area in a new contextual environment that is common to all of us, the urban environment. Each video sequence takes place in one or several locations, turning the city temporarily into a lab for unsual experiments.

Meine Trinkhalle
The so called german "Trinkhallen" (public refreshment stands, which also offering beer and spirits) are microcosm full of unique individuals who get together in daily routine. It has its own communication, manners and rules which arise out of this places. The goal of this project was an inside look and a better understanding of these so often misunderstood facilities. This magazine is a monograph about the big phenomenon Trinkhalle. During a field research of four month in the Rhein-Main area all sampled anecdotes, tragadies and essays based on personal experience have been transformed into a photographic, literarily and arty collective - shown in this magazine.

"A partire dal momento in cui
noi contestualizziamo l'immagine,
questa, inevitabilmente,
racconterà un'altra storia."
I grafici sono spesso persone che, avendo ricevuto un'educazione "estetica",
costruiscono e applicano inconsapevolmente scale gerarchiche assolute della "bellezza",
scale che sono peraltro prontissimi a rivedere alla successiva stagione
per assecondare a nuova "moda".
Il vero problema non è quello di assecondare i "trends" grafici
ma di "ascoltare" l'immagine per scoprire che cosa quell'immagine vuole essere.
Capire se "lei" vuole essere grande o invece piccola,
per meglio raccontare quello che è in grado di raccontare.
